Richard is a jack of many trades, a lifelong skill he honed at Auburn University and then in Italy. His first real job was with the Alabama Shakespeare Festival helping to expand it into one of America's largest regional theatres. After eight years, Richard moved to the New Urbanist town of Seaside, Florida where he was the Executive Director of The Seaside Institute. He now oversees all the business and marketing efforts for Bobby McAlpine's many ventures. Richard spends considerable time volunteering as President Emeritus of BTW Magnet High School's Board of Trustees, singing in two choirs, and sits on the Board of the Montgomery Education Foundation and is a graduate of Class XXI of Leadership Montgomery. On Saturdays, he can be found working in the garden of his Georgian style Garden District home he renovated in 2000 and shares with Agnes and Mark.
